Built for the purpose of defending the city from the Turks in around 1460, it is the oldest type of early artillery canon tower. In later years, under Ottoman rule it was transformed into the most infamous dungeon in the Belgrade Fortress. In 2010 Nebojša Tower was restored as a museum.
