Workshop and two master classes within the film festival “Film&Chips”
As part of New British film festival “Film&Chips” Serbia Film Commission continued its Mini film academy by organizing two master classes and one workshop.
Location manager workshop
Participants of location manager workshop were 10 location managers, set designer and architects who were together with lecturer actively involved in finding film locations for project. They were elaborating a script, preparing and analyzing potential location and did location scouting with well known British location manager Nick Daubeny and set designer Michael Carlin.
About lecturer:
Nick Daubeny is location manager from Great Britain, whose rich biography includes major titles such as “Inception”, “Pacific”, “Mission: Impossible III”, “Coriolanus”, etc. He is BAFTA awarded for outstanding contribution to British cinema.
Master class MICHAEL CARLIN: MY APPROACH TO FILM PRODUCTION DESIGN
Michael Carlin, British set designer, shared his experience with more than 40 young set designers in working on the films “The Dutchess” (Oscar nomination for best production design 2009.), “The Last King of Scotland”, “Two Faces of January” as well as on several other film and TV projects.
Master class LAURA HASTINGS SMITH: HOW TO PRODUCE INDEPENDENT FILMS
Laura Hastings Smith is produced “X+Y”, a film that opened this year’s New British film festival “Film&Chips”. More than 40 participants visited Belgrade Youth Center to hear about great experience on famous Bitish producer who spoke about film production, emphasizing the realization of large film project “Hunger” by Steve McQueen.
