The oldest part of Belgrade outside the walls of the Kalemegdan fortress that started its development in the1830s. Kosančićev venac is characteristic for its narrow streets, cobbled streets, houses and public buildings displaying different architectural styles from traditional Balkan architecture through to the first traces of European influence.
