The Tašmajdan caves were first excavated in Roman times. Throughout history they have been used as stone pits, shelters, a secret service base, etc. There are three big caves left underneath Tašmajdan park, one of the most popular parks in downtown Belgrade. They are not open to the public on a regular basis, but can be used for filming.
